''Platane'' Trees

Finally a beautiful day!!!
My picture today is of ''Platane'' Trees as they are called, they are all over here in Europe...
I read that they live to be 500 to 2000 years...Incredible...they can also withhold polution pretty good! Thats why we see so many of them in the cities... Soon they will all start blooming, nice big leaves...Its funny how in the winter they cut them down, they look like ends of naked bones, oh I can't wait to see some clothes on them...

Nice shot. There are a lot here too but the council's replacing them with faster growing variaties, also because in spring people have allergies to the seeds produced by the plane trees

I remember seeing these trees in Europe. Good to know what they are! This seems like a lovely little town; next time I go to Paris, I now have a place to get out to.

Glad you like the Miami Daily Photo!

After seeing Sam's I understand all the story about the tree day, LOL. Well around here they are starting to give sprouts. I didn´t know about the polution thing. Nice to learn that. And as Bob says we have lots of "plataneros" here. I like them specially in spring when leaves are tiny and you see this thin spray of greenfrom the distance .

What a delight to discover your site from a posting on Bob's Barcelona Pic a day! The trees are modern sculpture. I also would enjoy the site of these "bones" after they get dressed and delight us in their finery.
